These are two historical sites you should visit when you come to Nassau, Bahamas.

Fort Montagu- Oldest fort in Nassau,Bahamas the fort was built in 1741-1742 to help defend from the Spanish invasion.

BlackBeard's Tower- In the early 1700's BlackBeard frequently use the tower as a lookout spot when he was in The Bahamas. The tower located 5 miles east of Fort Montagu.

In 1782 Spanish forces under General Galvez capture The Bahamas. Also British-American Loyalist Colonel Andrew Deveaux recaptured in 1783. But years later the Bahamas gained independence July 10th 1973.

Although many people has settle or conquered in the Bahamas the impact they left on the island was good simply because there are different types of food such as West Indian, British, and Bahamian cuisines.
