Dominicans .V.S. Haitians

 War between Dominicans and Haitians 

In 1822, Haitian president Jean-Pierre Boyer invaded Santo Domingo for the third time with the intent of unifying the island. Third time was really the charm this war/ takeover would last for 22 years. The Dominicans wouldn't start to fight back until the year of 1844 and would win the war against the Haitians later on that year after being controlled for 22 years. this war would leave a major culture mishap because the Dominicans will not claim to be black simply because of the war even if some of their ancestors were Haitian.
